Formerly, Burning River Boxers, based out of Cleveland, OH, Firebrand got its start after a move to Arizona, and a fresh start to our program.

A family of four, including two daughters, we are, first, a loving pet home that happens to produce litters of smart, healthy and beautiful Boxers on the rare occasion.

Despite being in the breed for multiple decades, we have produced only three litters (the first under the name Burning River, the other two as Firebrand, co-bred with Soleil Boxers).

We have many dogs actively titled and working in the following disciplines:

  • Service Work

  • Conformation

  • Nosework

  • Performance

  • Instinct Trials

We strive for quality over quantity, and out of these three litters, we have produced 4 AKC Conformation Champions, one American Boxer Club Dam of Merit, the No. 2 NOHS Boxer in the country, 3 dogs in Service Work, various performance titles and one dog in advanced nosework. We are long-time members of Miami Valley Boxer Club (Ohio), an American Boxer Club Member Club.

Our litters have been co-bred with my dear friend of 25 years, Katrina Sun of Soleil Boxers. Being that the requirements of work and motherhood take priority over dogs, we have worked together for years juggling our dogs’ successes effectively to continue to achieve our goals in spite of life’s demands. We believe it truly takes a village to produce sound dogs.

We are passionate about our dogs in every way and we believe that when you take a Firebrand or Soleil Boxer home, you take home a giant piece of our hearts. And so, we are here for the entire lives of any dog we produce—no matter what. We are here for training, health, behavior, showing, grooming, feeding advice… or any question our families may have.

And… we understand that life changes. On the rare occasion that the extreme circumstance happens in which one of our families find themselves no longer able to care for one of our dogs, we take them back into their first home with us—no matter what.

In the interest of producing healthy puppies, all of our breeding stock are tested for the following conditions commonly affecting the Boxer breed: Arrythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC), Sub-aortic Stenosis (SAS), Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Canine Hip Displaysia (via OFA), and Degenerative Myleopathy (by DNA).

We use Avidog’s APET temperament testing when our puppies reach 6 weeks of age to ensure correct placement for the purpose our families are seeking for their dog. Because of this, your flexibility for the physical attributes of your puppy greatly increase that we will have a puppy available for your intended purpose for your dog.

If you are seeking a puppy to join your family, please feel free to reach out to us, but be prepared to wait for the birth of your puppy. Use this time wisely—to get to know us and develop a partnership that will ultimately last for the life of your dog (and many times longer, as many of our families become multigenerational Firebrand families!)
